# Comity

> Comity is a vendor-neutral coordination layer for a team's AI coding agents. Every agent knows what teammates' agents are building. Conflicts, such as one agent changing a function signature or an API route that another agent's code depends on, are caught and injected into the right agent's context before code is written. Team policy is enforced through agent hooks, and everything lands in an audit trail. Works with Claude Code, Codex and omp (verified), plus Cursor and GitHub Copilot hooks. Status: private beta.

- Awareness: team briefing injected at session start and on each prompt; intents with scope (paths, symbols, contracts); teammates' agent status updates; searchable team history.
- Detection: path and symbol overlap, contract breaks (function signatures, HTTP API routes, zod schemas) against teammates' new or existing call sites, monorepo workspace packages, pushed branches and pull requests via the GitHub App.
- Enforcement: warn-first policy in agent hooks; protected paths, exclusive claims, audited overrides.
- Notifications: Slack and signed webhooks.
- Security: per-org AES-256-GCM envelope encryption; Postgres row-level security per org; tokens are never written to repositories; self-hostable with Docker Compose.
